My Story
I am an artist, writer and professor in Chicago who is passionate about picture books.
After all, they are mini art galleries...

And I appreciated this from a very young age. I admired the illustrations in my books intently and examined each hue as my mom read to me before bedtime. A funny or heartwarming story also got me. I asked her to read There Are Rocks in My Socks Said the Ox to the Fox over and over. Especially the part when the ox gets a rail on his tail and a tack in his back…and a bee sting (not as violent as it sounds). I can also very much remember drawing and making things (pictures, crafts, household items, and fixing things) in the basement of my grandparent’s house. It was my first “studio.” And I loved it.

My work on children's books are a natural blend of my background both in education and marketing. I loved astronomy as a kid and that comes forth in my work today. I made my first "book" in grade school called "All About Space" compiling information I could find, and my teacher used it during science class. I was thrilled.

Perhaps we can meet through a project, event, or sharing coffee, even over a Zoom. Café con panna, please!
Thank you for visiting my page and reviewing my work!
